Huck and Jemima usually come down into our bed in the early morning. They wander down, bleary-eyed and crawl in for a final hour or so of sleep and snuggling. I usually love it but occasionally someone might be a little cranky and that can cause problems. They are very different sleepers. Huck is a deep-sleeping, heat-seeking missile who would burrow UNDER you if he could. Jemima sleeps lighter, likes a little space and has to have her pillow just so.
Yesterday. 6am.
Jemima: Moooooom, Hucky is pushing me.
Me: (sleepily) Scoot over Huck.
Huck: Unnnnn. (He scoots closer to her)
Jemima: Ahhh! He still pushing me!
Me: It's okay. Just go to sleep.
Jemima: I not like it!
Me: Mima, he's just protecting you Mima.
Jemima: No he not 'tecting me! He jus BUMPING me!
Most of the time, it's a lovely arrangement that I know I'll really miss one day. Other times, not so much.
